A short clip of Noam Chomsky explaining why the United States supports Israel, framing it in terms of strategic interests and foreign policy. It is posted by a channel that collects his talks.
Used as a source for the argument that US support for Israel is systematic and strategic, and for Chomsky's view of Palestine as resistance to colonialism.

The US "obsession" with Israel is not "random" or arbitrary at all, it's quite systematic and there are so much literature on that. link ▶ this video [Why the US. supports Israel / Noam Chomsky]
> "Hamas is playing the land grab card against Israel". What do you mean by that? Comparing Russia with Hamas seems like a massive distortion of reality, not sure you meant to do that. Israel is occupying internationally recognized Palestinian lands of West Bank and a blockade on Gaza. Just yesterday the Israeli foreign minister suggested sending Israeli settlers into Gaza illegally and drive Palestinians out for good. Hamas is a terrorist organization, who kills civilians, but let's not pretend that the IDF is any better. And the US is a colonial power of the 20th and 21st century. It just hasn't done it the same way as the Europeans of 17,18th,19th century, mostly because there are different tools available now: culture export, dependence on oil, dollar as reserve currency, global free trade, and the rise of corporations. Noan Chomsky says the issue of Palestine is resistance against colonialism. [1] [2] [1] ▶ this video [2] link
The idea that an "all-powerful small ethnic Jewish lobby" can trick the corporate elite of America for decades to do things against their interests is, putting aside its anti-semitic implications, utterly ridiculous. It is a way of deflecting blame away from the U.S. government itself.[1] The strategic interests are obvious: Israel is one of the largest military powers in the middle east and a means to project U.S. power over it. This was observed by the Pentagon as early as the late 1940s.[2] This is why the U.S. has given so much financial, military and diplomatic aid to Israel, one of the effects of which has been to build up its tech industry.
