A short video of the first TRON Smart House, built in 1989 as a demonstration of ubiquitous and ambient computing in the home. It comes from the uID Center, which promoted the TRON architecture.
HN cites it as the concrete demo behind discussions of Japan's TRON project and early smart-home ideas.

TRON wasn’t just an OS but a whole integrated system, it was meant to be used with different parts working together. There was a whole TRON house tech demo built in Tokyo back in 1989 ▶ this video If you want to try here is the BTRON 4.5 media, should work in modern VMs link link link
A video about the intelligent house: ▶ this video Edit: Sorry, it seems this was already posted. Still, the video is more informative than this article.
IBM have invented touchscreens with a dedicated pen (I ignore the name) around late '60s, decades ago we have seen ▶ this video the point? Well, it's simple: 99% of today high tech came from PUBLIC or at least publicly founded research from after WWII to first '80s ALL THE REST is just popularisation, ingenerisation and added crap to ensure some private party profits carefully designed not to give any power to users. It's about time we came back to a public research for public progress...
