A Financial Times film examining how Brexit hurt the UK economy, with FT writers and business people. It looks at trade effects, political silence about the costs, and the absence of a convincing Brexit dividend.

Sure, here's the list of the things you have to do to trade with EU that you previously didn't had to: link link Commercial Invoice: A detailed invoice for each transaction is needed for customs clearance, containing information like the value of goods, description, and terms of sale. Packing List: Provides details of the goods being shipped, quantities, weights, and packaging information. It's used by customs to verify contents. Commodity Codes (HS Codes): Classify the goods you are trading. These codes determine the duties and VAT that may apply. Certificates of Origin:If your goods are eligible for preferential treatment (e.g., lower tariffs), you might need proof of origin to claim this benefit under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). VAT and Duties: If you're selling to EU consumers, you may need to register for VAT in the EU or use the One-Stop Shop (OSS) scheme for simplified reporting. Proof of Transport:ocuments such as bills of lading or airway bills to demonstrate that goods have left the UK or entered the EU. Product-Specific Documentation: ome goods (e.g., food, chemicals, or electronics) may require additional certifications, safety data sheets, or compliance with product standards (e.g., CE or UKCA marking). With the mess of England's prime minster, a number of Brexit videos showed up in my feed on Youtube... some of the ones that I've watched that are interesting. A German documentary (it has English subtitles for the German narration)): British Fishermen and Brexit | ARTE.tv Documentary link A financial times article on Brexit - The Brexit effect: how leaving the EU hit the UK | FT Film ▶ this video A TLDR from earlier this week: No-one Likes Brexit Anymore: What Happens Next? link (the main part on this relevant is the polling and the corresponding events) --- There's a fair bit of Brexit-regret going on now and some people apparently still think its a good idea. At the time of the referendum, it appears that quite a few people who did a day's work in Britain thought that it was a good idea, but have since come to realize that it wasn't.
I'd agree after watching this YT video by the Financial Times. Suddenly having to pay import taxes led many companies to move operations to mainland Europe. ▶ this video
Just to add to this there was a good Financial Times film [1] recently that covered the after effects of Brexit. Covid and Ukraine have allowed politicians to divert attention away from the economic disaster that Brexit has been, and have been handy scapegoats, but the fact Brexit has damaged the U.K. economically is undeniable. 1: ▶ this video
For a more in-depth look at Brexit, watch this excellent documentary from the Financial Times (FT): The Brexit effect: how leaving the EU hit the UK ▶ this video
